What and Who We Are

First Presbyterian Preschool/Kindergarten was founded in August of 1987. It is located in the First Presbyterian Church, Morehead City, North Carolina. It is an extension of the Christian Education Program and an outreach mission of the church.

Objective

To have a school that provides a place for a child to develop to his/her fullest spiritually, academically, culturally and morally. We feel that this can be accomplished through a loving, warm and nurturing atmosphere geared toward building a child’s self-esteem.

Philosophy

We believe:

• that a child learns best in a nurturing Christian atmosphere and from a variety of experiences;
• that creating a feeling of self-worth (self-image) is important in each child;
• that the development of social skills should be a major emphasis for children in the program;
• that the activities and experiences should be appropriate to the child’s stage of development.
